10 Tips of How to Improve Your Online Store

You have probably read or heard everything I am going to tell you right now. I just want to repeat once more very important things that owners of the website for some reason tend to forget.

So, the first five tips the online store owners should know:

  1. The website is promoted by its content. If you want to do something really useful for your website - fill it with high-quality, unique, and interesting texts. Not only a good description of goods, but also news and review articles will work for you. That is what one may feel sense to invest money, because this is the way to draw a buyer in. If you are not able to write on your own, hire a competent, caring, and passionate copywriter who can write about an item with feeling and interest.
Do not bother yourself with keywords and hunt for secret search techniques. They simply do not exist. Everything is quite simple: write your texts well and interesting, and people should come on their own.
  2. Your main treasure is your audience. Carefully collect and store a database of buyers. Give people an opportunity to leave a comment about the product, always encourage feedback, several times a month remind of yourself with a digest about new products and with a couple of interesting articles on your website. Personalized mailing when a customer sees his or her name works best.
  3. Think of your own USP - unique selling proposition. There should be something that would necessarily distinguish you from dozens of competitors. If your store is one of many and does not differ from others, you will not be able to answer the question of why a buyer should buy from you but not from your neighbor. What is it that is provided exclusively by your store? Accurate and fast delivery? A gift for every purchase? Prices that are 20% below the market's offer? A system of cumulative discounts? You should always have something unique and exclusive.
  4. Each product should be a separate page (product card). If you do not have it, sooner or later, your website will fall down from its ranking positions in Google, in case it had any before. If a product has a separate page, make sure the product page would have a correctly formed format name:
Brand - Product Type - Model - Addition.
Properties - material, colour score, size chart.
Text description - a type of neckline and sleeves, matches best with, what style, etc.

  5. Bread crumbs are very desirable for the store - on each page - a path from the Home page to the current page through sections and subsections. For example:
Home > Apparel > Tunics > Guess - Knitted Tunic "Guess Who?" - blue colour, sizes XS-XXL
    or
Home > Guess > Tunics > Guess - Knitted Tunic "Guess Who?" - blue colour, sizes XS-XXL

The formation of bread crumbs should be automatic and dependent on the structure of the website.
